Will you serve halal food on board?
Yes, halal food will be served in all dining outlets throughout the ship.
– Onboard Languages
Similarly as onboard all our ships, public announcements and printed materials onboard MSC Magnifica will be available in our regular six international languages (English, Italian, German, French, Spanish and Portuguese).
In addition and in order to also address the best service and experience to our local guests, Arabic will also be used for public announcements and we will have a number of Arabic-speaking staff on board all of MSC Magnifica’s sailings throughout the season.
– Mixed venues and women-only venues
Both mixed venues and women-only venues will be available within the ship’s public areas, in order to accommodate our local guests in respect of their culture and practices.
Which is the list of shore excursions for these Red Sea cruises?
A spectacular shore excursions program will be finalized in mid-June and bookable on our channels.
Is there a specific dress code for shore excursions in Saudi Arabia?
All our guests – male and female – will have to respect local customs and traditions, something that we and our guests are used to with our sailings in the Gulf region where clothing needs to be modest and appropriate. Local customs in Saudi Arabia require men and women to dress modestly, with their shoulders and knees covered in public areas, and they should avoid wearing tight-fitting clothing or clothes with profane language or images.
During shore excursions beach visits in Saudi Arabia, will women be allowed to wear bathing costumes?
The guest profile for MSC Magnifica’s sailings will be 50 per cent international and 50 per cent from Saudi Arabia. Mixed beaches and female-only beaches will be available which is common throughout the whole Middle East and non-Saudi women will be allowed to wear bathing costumes, again something that is widespread in the region.
Will there be restrictions during the excursions to destinations in Saudi Arabia?
There are no general restrictions currently but some local restrictions may apply for some mosques or areas of religious worship, according to the Saudi Arabian authorities. It is forbidden to photograph Saudi residents ashore without their permission.
Our brand-new Saudi Arabia and Red Sea seasonal itinerary promises to be the very best way to discover this fascinating part of the Middle East. Guests will find the MSC Cruises’ world-class entertainment, fine international dining, award-winning family programs and a rich offer of excursions to discover the authentic beauties of this region. It will be also enriched with extra features to welcome and accommodate local guests in respect of local culture and values.
Are there any travel restrictions under the new protocol, such as past medical history, current health status or age?
In addition to the Health and Safety measures and travel requirements described on this page, the current advice from the World Health Organization, EU Healthy Gateways and other authorities is that COVID-19 is often more severe in people who are older or who have health conditions like lung or heart disease, diabetes or conditions that affect their immune system. Older guests or those with such conditions are advised to consult with a doctor or their local health authorities for guidance before travelling to assess whether they should be travelling at this time. According to the EU Healthy Gateways advisory, anyone over 65 years of age is considered part of a higher risk group.

What is the MSC Covid-19 Protection Plan?
As during a cruise, you may be exposed to specific COVID-19 risks that may not be usually covered by existing insurance policies, to ensure your peace of mind is strongly recommended – for all new reservations from 1 July 2022 onwards – for all guests to have in place an insurance policy that specifically covers them against COVID-19 related risks, such as cancellation, interruption, repatriation expenses, quarantine, medical assistance and related expenses, as well as hospitalization. If you have no insurance in place, please note that you might be exposed to additional costs that could not be covered by the Company.
The insurance should be in place to cover you and your family, from the confirmation of your booking until the end of the cruise, your cruise and flight or your Stay & Cruise package.
To fully protect you from the above risks, MSC offers a COVID Protection Plan – an insurance policy specifically designed for these COVID-19 risks – that can be added to the cruise whilst making the booking. The Covid Protection Plan is applicable to all departures on sales. Before finalizing the reservation, it will be possible to add to the cruise the MSC COVID-19 Protection plan at the price of 25€ per person for short haul destinations (Mediterranean and Northern Europe cruises), 29€ for Long Haul destinations (Caribbean & Antilles, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Red Sea, South America and Positioning cruises) and 45€ for World Cruise.
Alternatively, you may travel with another insurance policy covering the above risks.
What if I am not compliant with MSC Health and Safety Protocol Requirements?
Booked Guests that found themselves not to meet any of the requirements of the MSC Health and Safety Protocol (e.g missing vaccination) and therefore that they are prevented from boarding, are asked to send written communication to MSC Cruises not later than 15 days before the scheduled departure of their cruise in order to request their voucher or reschedule their cruise according to the MSC Flexible Booking Program.
Our guests who have booked directly with MSC can use our form, those who have booked via travel agency are kindly invited to refer to their travel agent.
