Before booking your cruise, please check HERE if you are allowed to embark according to your country of residence. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there might be international travel restrictions depending on your cruise destination and your country of residence.
The exact protocols for Winter 2022/23 Red Sea & Saudia Arabia, South America and South Africa itineraries are subject to change and will adapt according to the evolution of the pandemic and local requirements. Information will be updated on a regular basis when available.

MSC Cruises is offering a safe and stress-free holiday option for you and your loved ones. Embarking on an MSC cruise ship is like entering in a safe bubble thanks to our stringent MSC Cruises Health & Safety Protocol.
Our priority is the health and safety of our guests and crew. The below measures are applicable to Winter 2021 departures Red Sea Cruises. We are continuously assessing developments in response to the COVID-19 and will adapt the health and safety measures to maintain a safe bubble.
IMPORTANT COVID-19 INFORMATION/PRE-BOARDING MEASURES AND SCREENING – TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
VALID ON ALL CRUISES FROM – INCLUDING DOMESTIC & INTERNATIONAL
We will deny boarding in case of:
• Symptoms such as fever (>37,5 C C / 99.5 F), cough, shortness of breath, chills, muscle/body aches, fatigue, headache, sore throat and loss of taste/smell in the 14 days prior to embarkation
• Potential exposure to a suspected or confirmed case of COVID 19 in the 14 days prior to embarkation
• Temporary travel restrictions based on local circumstances. For example, certain countries may deny visas or prohibit entry based on travel history or nationality.
- Failure to provide the proof of the mandatory COVID-19 insurance policy for all children up to the age 5 & below

AT EMBARKATION
- All Guests aged 12 18 and older (12 years for cruises departing from US) are required to be fully vaccinated from Covid-19 and all Guests aged 2 and older are required to submit a negative test prior to boarding.
- Guests are required to bring proof of a negative COVID 19 test to the cruise terminal on embarkation day. Test must meet stated travel requirements by Country of residence and cruise destination (check above the Travel Requirements section)
- Newly designed processes with assigned arrival times and enhanced sanitation measures
- Boarding denied to any guest showing signs of illness or in case of exposure to a case of COVID-19 (14 days prior to embarkation). Please check the travel requirements details for each destination

MEASURES REQUIRED ON BOARD
- Regulated occupancy in public areas and venues, and pre-booking for activities and entertainment
- The wearing of face masks is highly recommended. In certain circumstances this recommendation might be due to a mandatory requirement in accordance with applicable health authorities regulations of a country or port of call visited. When ashore, guests must also follow any local regulations regarding face mask usage. These protocols are subject to change.
- Calling first before queuing up at a desk for information

ELEVATED STANDARDS OF SANITATION AND CLEANLINESS
- New cleaning methods including the use of hospital-grade disinfectants, electrostatic sprayers, increased cleaning frequency and a focus on high-traffic, frequently-touched areas
- Cabins cleaned daily, with additional deep sanitation at the end of each cruise
- 100% fresh, external air supplied to all cabins and public spaces, with no recirculation
- Hand sanitiser dispensers available around the ship

ENHANCED MEDICAL SERVICES WITH HIGHLY QUALIFIED STAFF
- You will be fully protected by the Covid-19 Protection insurance, should you test positive before boarding or during your cruise.

WELL TRAINED, WELL EQUIPPED AND HEALTHY CREW
- All Crew members are required to be fully vaccinated and regularly tested. We conduct extensive screening and medical checks, in addition to daily health monitoring and temperature checks
- Comprehensive training on the new enhanced protocol and use of protective equipment
- Crew members follow proper handwashing practices and wear protective equipment such as face masks and gloves.
THE ONBOARD EXPERIENCE
Enjoy unique experiences including award-winning shows, world-class dining, excursions, family activities, boutique shopping, beauty

TERMINAL AND EMBARKATION
- Guests are required to bring proof of a negative COVID 19 test to the cruise terminal on embarkation day. Test must meet stated travel requirements by Country of residence and cruise destination (check above the Travel Requirements section)
- We’ve redesigned our embarkation process with assigned arrival times indicated in the cruise ticket to minimise contact and enable responsible social distancing
- The terminal and gangway areas will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitised according to the same high standards as onboard.

RESTAURANT, BARS & LOUNGES
- For a contactless experience, you can access restaurant and bar menus from your personal mobile device by conveniently scanning a QR code.

SHORE EXCURSIONS
- Carefully Selected Itineraries: We constantly monitor the global health situation and stand prepared to modify our itineraries when needed. We will call only in ports that local authorities and health organisations have cleared as safe and in full compliance with all local port and health authorities’ regulations.
- Discover in protected excursions: If you wish to go ashore during your cruise, you can only do so by participating in one of our MSC Shore Excursions to ensure the same high standards of health and safety ashore as on board.

ENTERTAINMENT AND ACTIVITIES
- We are introducing newly designed onboard activities and entertainment for smaller group sizes. A wide array of activities including shows, entertainment and the Kids Club will be available by reservation at no extra charge.
- As the capacity of the theatre will be reduced to ensure responsible social distancing, the entertainment schedule will be extended so you can still enjoy a great variety of award-winning shows.
- All recreational and sporting equipment, fitness machines, toys, games and Kids Club equipment are sanitised after each use.

OUTDOOR AREAS & POOLS
- All open decks will be accessible and pools, whirlpools and the Aquapark will be available with a reduced occupancy for social distancing. Sunbeds will be separated in clusters. All outdoor furniture will be sanitised after every use and deeper sanitation will take place every night.
- Comprehensive isolation procedures and a response plan in place with local authorities that will be activated in case of suspected or confirmed COVID-19 situations

GUEST SERVICES AND CUTTING-EDGE TECHNOLOGIES
- To easily find information while avoiding queues, we encourage you to utilise our new Information Centre available by phone and digital services such as MSC for Me* (mobile app, interactive touchscreens, in-cabin Smart TV). Remote desks will be available on embarkation day for in-person questions. You should always call before going to any desk for information. Cashless payments will be highly recommended.
